The production of vitreous enamel was introduced in India during the 17th century; it was soon appreciated by the Mughal court, who used vitreous enamel to decorate the precious jewels they paraded at public ceremonies. In the following centuries the techniques were refined and expanded, and enameled glass quickly became part of the tradition.
In this necklace it is placed on silver, the red dot embedded in the enamel recalls the "Bindi", the traditional red dot used by Indian women.

La produzione dello smalto vetroso fu introdotta in India durante il XVII secolo; viene presto apprezzato dalla corte Mughal, che impiega lo smalto vetroso per decorare i preziosi gioielli sfoggiati nelle cerimonie pubbliche. Nei secoli a seguire le tecniche si raffinano, si diffondono e lo smalto vetroso entra a far parte della tradizione.
In questa collana e' collocato su argento, il punto rosso annegato nello smalto ricorda il "Bindi", il tradizionale punto rosso usato dalle donne Indiane.
