Antique camera Premo SR
This beautiful portable camera was produced by the American company Rochester Optical Co. starting in 1895. The SR model was the top of the range of the Premo series and is equipped with a Victor shutter and Bausch & Lomb lenses.
It is complete with three supports for the plates, which find space in the back.
The photos in the 1896 catalog give a complete description and prices of this model.
The shutter works, but I could not verify the efficiency of all operations. The rail on which the objective slides is missing; the other movements of the frame are functional. The bellows is in good condition but has damage on the corners. The closure of the front door is defective.
The original leather case is extremely damaged and the top is missing.

Questa bella fotocamera portatile fu prodotta dall'azienda americana Rochester Optical Co. a partire dal 1895. Il modello SR era il top di gamma della serie Premo ed e' equipaggiata con otturatore Victor e lenti Bausch & Lomb.
E' completa di tre supporti per le lastre, che trovano spazio nella parte posteriore.
Le foto del catalogo del 1896 danno una completa descrizione ed i prezzi dell'epoca di questo modello.
L'otturatore funziona, ma non ho potuto verificare l'efficienza di tutte le operazioni. Manca la rotaia su cui scorre l'obbiettivo; gli altri movimenti del telaio sono funzionanti. Il soffietto e' in buone condizioni ma presenta danni sugli angoli. La chiusura dello sportello anteriore e' difettosa.
La custodia originale in pelle e' estremamente danneggiata e manca la parte superiore.
