"Gouache" is the term that identifies the painting technique that uses pigments diluted in water mixed with arabic gum and chalk; it achieves a well saturated opaque color.
This work by an unknown author represents a vibrant landscape in which are included various subjects; three characters in the foreground stand out. The overview includes the walls of a ruined fortress and a tower with an oriental flavor; even the clothing of one of the characters depicted reminds us of the East. We can think of a Venetian author, as the marine scene in the background and the east/west effect leads us back to the intense commercial traffic between Venice and the eastern countries, particularly intense at that time.
There are some repairs. Dimensions 56.5 x 41 Cm
"Gouache" e' il termine usato per identificare la tecnica pittorica che utilizza pigmenti diluiti in acqua e mescolati con gomma arabica e gesso, per ottenere un colore saturo ed opaco.
Questa opera di autore sconosciuto rappresenta un vibrante paesaggio in cui sono inclusi vari soggetti da cui si distaccano alcuni personaggi in primo piano. La panoramica comprende le mura di una fortezza in rovina ed una torre dal sapore orientale; anche l'abbigliamento di uno dei personaggi raffigurati ci ricorda l'oriente. Possiamo pensare ad un autore veneziano, in quanto la scena marina in secondo piano e l'effetto oriente/occidente ci riconduce all'intenso traffico commerciale tra Venezia ed i paesi del levante, particolarmente intensi in quell'epoca.
Sono presenti alcuni restauri. Dimensioni 56.5 x 41 Cm
