Between the end of the 1800s and the first decades of the 1900s, barbers and perfumeries gave their customers pocket-sized advertising calendars. These contained photographic images and drawings by artists in vogue at the time, illustrating the most varied topics, from fashion to opera, views of cities and monuments, mythical scenes etc.
This calendar, from the "Premiata Fabbrica di Profumeria Fratelli Cella" in Milan, presents scenes from the opera "Germania" by Alberto Franchetti and libretto by Luigi Illica.
It is in excellent condition, with few and small signs of aging, as shown in the photos.

Fra la fine del 1800 ed i primi decenni del 1900 i barbieri e le profumerie regalavano ai loro clienti dei calendarietti pubblicitari tascabili. Questi contenevano immagini fotografiche e disegni di artisti in voga all'epoca, illustrando i gli argomenti più svariati, dalla moda all'opera, vedute di città e monumenti, scene mitiche etc.
Questo calendarietto, della "Premiata Fabbrica di Profumeria Fratelli Cella" di Milano, presenta scene dall'opera lirica "Germania", di Alberto Franchetti e libretto di Luigi Illica.
E' in ottime condizioni, pochi e piccoli segni del tempo, come da foto.
