Despite the simplicity of this work of the second half of the 19th century, its correct proportions and the pose of the horse create an extremely realistic effect, thanks also to the skilful definition of the contours of the muscles.
With the tail of real horsehair, the sculpture seems to be carved from numerous pieces of wood assembled with precision; probably originally polychrome, the current patina may have been applied in more recent times, to generate a homogeneous effect. The basis is likely a later addition, applied in recent times.

Nonostante la semplicita' di questa opera della seconda meta' del XIX secolo, le sue giuste proporzioni e la posa del cavallo creano un effetto estremamente realistico, grazie anche alla sapiente definizione dei contorni della muscolatura.
Con la coda di vero crine, la scultura sembra essere ricavata da numerosi pezzi di legno assemblati con precisione; probabilmente policroma in origine, la patina attuale potrebbe essere stata applicata in tempi piu' recenti, per generare un effetto omogeneo. La base e' probabilmente più tarda ed applicata in tempi recenti.
