These large coasters have probably had their edges cut away, since I could not find any hallmarks on them and they have what looks like an odd termination of their edges. They have been tested with acid to prove they are silver.
They are engraved by hand and a thick felt has been glued to their back. These could also be "exercises" for the apprentice silversmith, before he is given more important jobs.
